I was told I have epilepsy.....
I was told I have a brain injury.....
I was told I have ADHD.........
I was told I have dyslexia.....
But was not never told how to be successful in life

Dr. Lopez is currently exploring a new approach that prioritizes people's strengths. Unfortunately, the existing treatment methods used by clinicians, parents, and school curricula tend to focus primarily on deficits when addressing developmental, academic, or cognitive, often overlooking strengths and the importance of overall success is crucial to shift the treatment focus for individuals with cognitive or academic challenges to also highlight strengths.
By acknowledging these strengths, we can achieve better success in areas where individuals can excel. Present interventions often concentrate on deficits, which may not yield optimal outcomes. By imagining treatment strategies to emphasize cognitive and academic strengths, we can enhance individuals' chances of success in life. When treatment planning is reconceptualized for those with specific conditions, it opens up greater opportunities for success. This approach involves implementing effective behavioral and educational interventions that shift the focus from deficits to strengths. The positive implications of these changes will benefit individuals, society, and the economy. More individuals may become engaged in learning, reducing academic frustration and discouragement. Additionally, academic success can alleviate economic burdens, allowing individuals to better careers, ultimately enhancing the mental health of society through increased satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment
