About Dr. Lopez

Dr. Abraham J. Lopez holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, specializing in clinical neuropsychology. He has extensive experience assessing cognitive, developmental, genetic, psychiatric, and neurological conditions. Dr. Lopez is a clinical neuropsychologist at El Paso Children’s Hospital, working with the neuroscience and epilepsy teams.

He collaborates closely with the neurology department at University Medical Center (UMC) El Paso, focusing on epilepsy and other neurological conditions. Dr. Lopez performs neuropsychological testing and complex procedures like WADA testing. Plans are underway for psychiatry residents from Paul Foster Medical School & Texas Tech Psychiatry Residency Program to rotate with Dr. Lopez.

Dr. Lopez regularly lectures on developmental conditions, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and neurocognitive disorders. He has co-authored three professional publications and appeared in TV interviews for local news programs including Fox, Univision, Telemundo, CW Channel, and ABC. He contributes to community efforts to raise mental health awareness.
