Expert in Neuropsychological Assessment and Rehabilitation
Dr. López is a bilingual clinical neuropsychologist specializing in comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and independent medical evaluations (IMEs) for developmental, neurological, and neuropsychiatric conditions. He earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and completed postdoctoral training in the specialized field of Clinical Neuropsychology.
His advanced training in psychopharmacology, cognitive-behavioral therapy, epilepsy-related neuropsychology, and cognitive rehabilitation has provided him with a deep understanding of the diagnosis, management, and treatment of a broad range of neurological and neurocognitive disorders. His clinical experience spans pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
In addition to his work at LarLo Behavioral Services, Dr. López holds clinical appointments and hospital privileges at El Paso Children’s Hospital and University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC), where he participates in procedures such as the Wada test (intracarotid sodium amobarbital procedure) and provides neuropsychological evaluations for individuals presenting with diverse neurological and neurocognitive conditions. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (community faculty). He additionally offers training experience to psychology doctoral students.
Dr. López has co-authored multiple professional publications and is currently involved in a research study examining the neuropsychological effects of craniosynostosis. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he is committed to providing culturally responsive and evidence-based care. He is an active member of several national neuropsychology and rehabilitation organizations.
